I have been working on my testimony for weeks and God is continuing to show me how He has been working everything together for my good for the past 15 years of having a hardened heart. I am overwhelmed with gratefulness for His divine plan for my life.
Basically, I am a prodigal daughter, who is finally realizing that God has much better plans for my life than I could ever hope for or imagine, per the Holy Spirit leading me to this Biblical truth in Ephesians 3:20+21. I was born and raised on a mission field, in which my family and I lived on the Memphis campus of The Tennessee Baptist Children’s Home, and my dad served as the activity director for the first 17 years of my life. My grandfather, on my mom’s side, was both my mom and my dad’s pastor while they were teenagers, up until after they got married. My grandfather was then called to be the president of the Memphis branch of the Tennessee Baptist Children’s Home. Shortly after, my dad began serving and ministering at the same campus, as the recreation minister. I am so blessed to have been raised in not only a Godly immediate family, but also both sides of my extended family put God first in all that they do. Because I had such positive, Godly influences, I asked Jesus to come into my heart when I was seven years old. Shortly after, my grandfather baptized me. Both of my parents demonstrated what it meant to be an heir of the King of Kings—through daily prayer and meditation on God’s word. In addition to seeking God’s will in our home, my family and I were active members in a Biblical church with a huge emphasis on missions and servitude. I learned from an early age the value and importance of having spiritual accountability and growing closer to God with a strong group of close, Godly girlfriends. My sisters in Christ lived on God’s Word. We thrived on learning more about God. We were at church every time the doors were open. When we weren’t at church, we were at each other’s houses doing Bible studies and just enjoying Christian fellowship. I have been extremely blessed to have had such an amazing childhood in all areas and aspects of my life.
